Mathruvedi
A mother is someone who bravely says ‘YES’ to the call to lead her family as our Blessed Mother Mary did- a role model of a hardworking person in prayers who nurture and protect her family always even in the midst of trials and pains.
Mums spend years of their lives immersed in hectic double shifts- one at home and the other at the workplace. She is always active in her never-ending house chores- cooking to satisfy the family taste buds, cleaning, washing, making the beds, diaper changing, night-time wakings, juggling schedules, and trying hard to form her children in the faith, fuelling the family car to run properly. Holding the father’s hand, our role is to upbringing our children in faith in this techy world. Our role model is Mother Mary.
Mathruvedi is a group of active mums, one of the vibrant pious associations in our parish under the guidance of our parish priest. We are actively involved in the church’s day-to-day activities and offer a shoulder in all our community’s initiatives complying with our church’s rules and regulations.
Apart from the usually assumed chore of cooking and running the food stall, we have actively stepped into intercession ministry. We are happy to say we are raising our weak hands to heaven to intercede for those in need through Holy Rosaries, Divine Mercy chaplets, and Stations of Cross. We pray for God’s Grace to continue this forever.
Mums are like shining stars in the Catechism ministry too; the majority of our catechists are mums!
May all mums be blessed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to handle all the works entrusted to us.
